Making a Purchase
We can accept orders and payments by telephone, fax, email and through our website. After you have placed your order, we will send a confirmation email to you summarising the order. We accept payment in sterling by cheque made payable to "Half Price Batteries" or by Maestro, Delta VISA, or MasterCard. The company name quoted on your statement will be "Merit / HPB".
When we receive your order, we will debit your payment card with the total cost of the order prior to your order being despatched.
If you place an order offline, you will be contacted by one of our representatives to arrange payment. If you decide to pay by cheque, we will wait until it clears before processing the order.
If for any reason we cannot despatch your order within 7 working days (excluding weekends), we will notify you by telephone or email. You will be given the opportunity to cancel the item(s) out of stock, or be given an expected date of delivery.
We cannot guarantee exact timescales for delivery. Royal Mail can take up to 14 days to deliver your package within the UK mainland. Orders for non-mainland UK may take slightly longer.
Our standard delivery charge for UK mainland is £2.95.
If your order is lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly. Half Price Batteries cannot be held responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen packages.
Regrettably, we are unable to supply any of our products outside the UK.

Should you require to return your order to us you should include paperwork with your original order number stated, a description of the defect, your name and address, a contact telephone number and state whether you would like a refund or replacement. Goods are returned at the customer's expense and we advise obtaining 'proof of delivery' as Half Price Batteries are not liable for goods lost in transit.
Half Price Batteries will refund the full amount of the products purchased, less the original postage and packing paid, as long as the batteries are returned in a new and unused condition.

WEEE Battery Regulations
Under the Waste Battery Regulations, we are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return any batteries bought from us to the addess above along with a note detailing the type/size, quantity and our battery code for the batteries enclosed. The cost of returning the batteries under the Waste Battery Regulations is the consumers.
Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility by using the postcode locator for Civic Amentity sites that accept back portable batteries at www.recyclenow.co.uk
However most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points, so you may find stores in your local area more accessible than returning them to us.
